HI, I'm Pallavi Sinha. I live locally with my husband, and run a small business providing legal & education services. As a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, Former People of Australia Ambassador & Former Lifeline Counsellor, I want to extend my community service to serving as a Councillor. I’m actively involved with local precincts and community groups. The recurring feedback is that we need better representation on Council and new ideas.

I’ve worked as a Lawyer or Notary Public or Lecturer for over 20 years. e.g

  • I worked as a Solicitor in the Planning & Environment and Corporate Advisory section at King & Wood Mallesons. This included working on transactions comprising billions of dollars
  • I’ve lectured Commercial Law at the Australian Catholic University North Sydney, and at the College of Law St Leonards

I also have significant Board, policy & advocacy experience e.g.

  • I served on the NSW Council for Women’s Economic Opportunity and developed a financial toolkit resource, & as an Appointed Supporter of the Government Campaign to stop Domestic Violence
  • Provide strategic input to high level projects
  • I’ve organised small business and community consultations with State and Federal MPs
  • As Chair of a community organisation, I successfully lobbied for changes to legislation to increase access to justice
  • I’m a member of the Liberal Party & Chair of the Legal Policy branch. I recently organised a Youth Justice Forum with the Shadow Minister for Youth Justice

If elected, I will carry on the good work of the longest serving female Councillor & former Mayor Jilly Gibson such as developing open spaces & community villages and upgrading local parks, and I WILL

  • Open the North Sydney Olympic pool & ensure that upcoming projects like the bike ramp are delivered on time and within budget
  • Speed up the review of development applications
  • Help with cost of living pressures by reducing unnecessary waste of ratepayers money (e.g. on legal expenses)
  • Support small business, residents (both owners & renters) & communities via regular consultation & ensure the sustainability of local villages
  • Ensure pedestrian safety & traffic calming
  • Preserve green & open spaces & improve playground and sporting facilities
  • Take action to reduce the high rate of DV
  • Work with all levels of government to prioritise the interest of residents, especially in relation to the upcoming sale of Luna Park, and I would oppose the introduction of 2 way tolls to the harbour bridge tolls

I want to ensure that there’s accountability, and that Council spends monies from ratepayers wisely and for the best interest of the local government area.
